Welcome to Governance Section

Governors visit the school regularly, not only to attend meetings but also to observe the day-to-day running of the school. They are encouraged to take part in a range of school activities, including INSET days, attendance strategy meetings, school performances, subject book looks, pupil interviews, and subject reviews.

Throughout the year, governors also participate in two enquiry days. The focus for each enquiry day is agreed in advance at the Autumn Full Governing Body meeting. These may be prompted by factors such as school data, outcomes from work scrutinies, discussions with staff, subject reviews, or information from the Headteacher’s report.

In addition, governors are linked to specific curriculum subjects and key areas such as attendance, safeguarding, and health and safety. They regularly report back to the Full Governing Body on developments and findings within their allocated subjects and areas.
